Celebrate The Reading League’s 10th anniversary with a week of free webinars that put our chapter community at the center of the conversation.

Each day spotlights a different audience—from educators and school leaders to families, researchers, and the broader literacy community—bringing together chapter leaders, national literacy experts, and leading researchers to share practical insights and celebrate the people advancing evidence-aligned reading instruction across the country.

Join the sessions most relevant to your role or attend all five to gain a broader perspective on how partners across the literacy community are working together to advance our shared mission. Throughout the week, attendees will have opportunities to connect with their local chapter, support The Reading League’s mission, and discover relevant resources. The sessions will be recorded, but we encourage you to join live to be eligible for daily anniversary giveaways and engage in Q&A with the panelists.

Session Descriptions

Monday: The Educators Who Make Reading Possible
Every day, educators translate the science of reading into instruction for their students. Join chapter hosts Keegan Wilson (TRL-SC) and Virginia Kemp (TRL-SC), along with Jessica Pasik (TRL National), for a candid panel conversation featuring literacy expert Carla Stanford on what’s working in classrooms right now. Whether you’re a classroom teacher, interventionist, or literacy coach, you’ll walk away with practical insight into how the science of reading shows up in day-to-day teaching, straight from the people doing the work.

Tuesday: The Leaders Driving Lasting Change
Sustainable change in literacy doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built by leaders who champion it at every level. Chapter hosts Heidi Bishop (TRL-SC) and Ashton Venters (TRL-NC), joined by Elisabeth Lamoureaux (TRL National), sit down with leadership expert Angie Hanlin to unpack what it really takes to drive and sustain science of reading implementation: policy decisions, systems change, and strong leadership. A must-attend for principals, curriculum directors, and anyone shaping literacy policy in their district or state.

Wednesday: The Families & Communities Supporting Readers
Literacy change reaches further when families and communities are part of the movement. Chapter hosts Dr. Robert Rogers (TRL-TX) and Sarah Carlson-Wallrath (TRL-MN), with Natalie Gwishiri (TRL National) and national literacy advocate Clarice Jackson, spotlight the parents, caregivers, and community advocates helping carry the science of reading beyond the classroom. Perfect for families, advocates, and Reading League chapter members looking to deepen community engagement around literacy.

Thursday: The Researchers and Higher Education: Expanding What We Know
Where does evidence meet practice? Chapter hosts Dr. Bethany Moffatt (TRL-WA) and Dr. Tracy Hastings (TRL-IN), alongside Dr. Marisa Ramirez Stukey (TRL National), will sit down with researcher Dr. Jessica Toste to explore how the latest findings in reading science translate into real classroom impact, and how we are closing the gap between research and practice. Ideal for those in higher ed, teacher preparation, or anyone curious about what’s next in reading research.

Friday: The Reading League Community: Moving Literacy Forward Together
Cap off the week with a celebration of ten years of collective impact! Chapter hosts Sean Lindsey (TRL-NC) and Dr. Rhonda Nelson (TRL-IA), joined by Dr. Maria Murray (TRL National) and national literacy expert Dr. Louisa Moats, lead a forward-looking, community-wide conversation on how the science of reading has evolved over the last decade — and where we’re headed together in the next. Participants will hear about the celebrations and challenges of implementing reading research at scale.
