RSVP to attend Chalkbeat’s annual discussion of key education topics likely to surface during the upcoming legislative session.

Join us for our annual discussion of key education topics likely to surface during the upcoming legislative session. This year’s conversation will be held virtually on Zoom Webinar from noon – 1:30 MT on Thursday, Jan. 8.

Last time, our conversation with lawmakers focused on the state’s budget challenges, the impact of the Trump administration on Colorado schools, and how to keep educators in the teaching profession.

This year, we’ll once again discuss how budget shortfalls might impact K-12 and higher education. We’ll also discuss lawmakers’ reactions to the Trump administration’s education policies, whether they’ll take any action after the creation of a public K-12 religious school, and how they will continue to address school and university campus safety issues.

We’re excited to be joined by:

  • Sen. Janice Marchman, a Loveland Democrat
  • Sen. Scott Bright, a Platteville Republican
  • Rep. Meghan Lukens, a Steamboat Springs Democrat
  • Rep. Matthew Martinez, a Monte Vista Democrat
  • Rep. Lori Garcia Sander, an Eaton Republican

Please register for this event so we can provide the webinar information and so you can submit your questions for our panel. This is a ticketed event, with a suggested donation of $25. Price shouldn’t be a barrier, however: You can give $1. Or, if you are able, you can give more than $25 to support our work. Chalkbeat Colorado is a nonprofit organization, and we rely on public support to provide essential independent coverage of education.

Special thanks to our event sponsor, the Colorado Education Association. Thank you to our event partner, Young Invincibles.
