Archives Education Institute (AEI) 2026: Resistance through Creativity
The Archives Education Institute (AEI) brings together educators, particularly those working in K-12 education, and archivists from the New York metropolitan area to explore the educational power and potential of primary sources. This year’s AEI is a multi-part program that includes a tour of the BAM Hamm Archives and a webinar highlighting archival materials from the Krikor and Clara Zohrab Information Center.
The culminating event of this year’s AEI will be a half-day showcase featuring a series of presentations at the Jackson Heights Library on Saturday, November 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. With a theme of Resistance through Creativity, the showcase will feature materials from the archives of Third World Newsreel, the Lesbian Herstory Archives, and Interference Archive.
Registration will be capped at 40 attendees. Registration is non-transferable. Please note that you MUST reserve a ticket in advance online in order to attend this event. In the occasion that the event is sold out, we highly recommend joining the waitlist. An ART staff member will reach out to you if a spot becomes available. Unless you’ve been given permission, please do not show up at the event without registering.
This event is part of the proceedings of the Archives Education Institute (AEI), whose aim is to pair K-12 educators with unique archival repositories in the NY metropolitan area. Limited tickets will be available for A.R.T. members, to accommodate teachers registered for AEI.
Non-A.R.T. members can register with the code AEIEDUCATOR2026
