UFT Financial Aid Presentation via ZOOM

The United Federation of Teachers will host a Financial Aid Presentations for Counselors/Teachers and Parents.

The featured presenters will be Maria Rodriguez, Outreach Specialist and Natasha Torres, Dream Act Coordinator for the NYS Higher Education Coordinator. (HESC) Maria & Natasha will focus on describing the FREE services provided by HESC to assist students and parents applying for financial aid for college including:

The FAFSA Ready Training Program:

FAFSA Completion Initiative: Learn how to access available data to identify and assist students who need help completing the FAFSA and TAP.
Supporting Students Through Their FAFSA: Step-by-step guidance to help students complete their FAFSA successfully, including tips to avoid common errors.
NYS TAP and DREAM Act Applications: Comprehensive tutorials on application processes, eligibility, and resources to assist students in accessing the state financial aid eligibility.

The UFT Financial Aid Presentation will also feature the CUNY FAST Support Team.

Our presenters are Ms. Lucy McIntyre, Deputy Director and Compliance Officer and Mr. Walter Velas Compliance Manger from the Central Office—OSFA/Policy and Compliance. The CUNY FAST (Financial Aid Support Team) is here to help current and future CUNY students complete the FAFSA, TAP and NYS Dream Act applications for financial aid, ensuring you have the money to cover your college expenses!
