Did you know an estimated 10-40% of high school students who intend to enroll in college the following fall never actually do so?  Students most underrepresented on college campuses (e.g., students of color, students from low-income backgrounds, and first-generation students) are the most susceptible to the pitfalls of the phenomenon known as “summer melt.”

With pandemic-related mental health, financial, and social challenges, we are on the verge of an enrollment crisis with more students “melting out” than ever. With summer just around the corner, it’s important for parents, teachers, and student advocates to understand the underlying causes of summer melt and develop the necessary tools to combat it.

Join this webinar to learn:

  • What are the primary factors that contribute to students “melting”?
  • How can we prevent it?
  • Steps that Achieve Atlanta found to be effective in preventing summer melt
  • How coaching students can help
  • OneGoal’s Summer Hub – a platform designed to support students during this challenging time

Join our host Krismin Inocentes Bell, OneGoal-Bay Area Executive Director, and panelists Korynn Schooley, Vice President of College Access, Achieve Atlanta; Lina Fritz, Managing Director of Program Innovation, OneGoal-Chicago; and Terrell Garrett, Senior Director of Coaching and Persistence, OneGoal-New York.
