The end of the school year can be wasteful, but it doesn’t have to be!
NYC Public Schools Office of Sustainability is hosting classroom supply Drop and Swaps in in partnership with Materials for the Arts. There will be events in every borough.
What is a Drop and Swap?
- NYC Public School teachers can donate excess markers, pencils, fabric, and other classroom supplies
- They can also “shop” materials from other teachers to take back to the classroom, for free!
- Any excess supplies at the end of the Drop and Swap will go to Materials for the Arts’ warehouse to be distributed to schools and nonprofit organizations
What to bring:
- Unused paper
- Pens and pencils
- Paint
- Calculators
- Arts and crafts supplies
- Fabric and trim
- Classroom library books
- Office supplies
Please DO NOT bring: Furniture, Technology, Appliances, Clothing , Curriculum / Lesson Plans, Textbooks, Broken or unusable items
**This event is not open to the public – Drop and Swaps are for NYC public school teachers and staff.
The more teachers participate, the more we reduce waste!
